Renata Lucas trabaja sobre la arquitectura existente y las relaciones de circulación creadas a partir de alli. Su obra propone ser activada por medio de la presencia y el desplazamiento del público.

Un punto en el cual sustenta su obra, es en una de las concepciones cosmogónicas perteneciente a las comunidades indígenas que vivían en el Valle de Aburrá antes de la llegada de los españoles y que configuraban su espacio simbólico por medio de la misma geografía.

Tres cerros ubicados en este territorio: el cerro Nutibara, el cerro Pan de Azúcar y el cerro El Volador, forman un triángulo sagrado que según estudios recientes de arquitectos, (Julia Rave arquitecta y profesora de la universidad nacional) quedaría como punto central del triángulo lo que ahora es el parque Berrío, justo el lugar en donde éstas comunidades prehispanicas se encontraban para intercambiar sus mercancías.

En la concepción de la obra fueron escogidas tres terrazas de tres edificios aledaños del centro de Medellín que por su cercanía y visibilidad corresponden a una especie triángulo que concentraba el triángulo sagrado de los tres cerros anotados anteriormente.

Las terrazas son: la terraza de la habitación 1009 del Hotel Nutibara, la terraza del edificio anexo del Hotel Nutibara llamado Plazuela Nutibara y la terraza del cuarto piso del Palacio de la Cultura.

La propuesta de Renata Lucas fue hacer una construcción de un cuarto de cada terraza, tomando como base la misma arquitectura existente para elaborarla y ubicar esas construcciones en una terraza diferente, quedando de esta manera la terraza del palacio de la cultura en la habitación 1009 del Hotel Nutibara, la terraza de la habitación 1009 del Hotel Nutibara en el edificio anexo Plazuela Nutibara y ésta última en la terraza del cuarto piso del Palacio de la Cultura.

De esta manera al construir tres espacios en los cuales se puede estar y cuya estructura recoje todo lo que he anotado antes con referencia a las contrucciones de las terrazas, crea toda una relación entre los edificios y los extiende en el espacio por medio de la presencia y del desplazamiento del público.
